Randall Kim has extensive experience in complex litigation matters in federal and state courts as well as private arbitrations. His cases have involved claims for misappropriation of trade secrets, breach of fiduciary duty, professional negligence, breach of contract, unfair competition, antitrust violations and securities fraud.
Before joining Brune & Richard in 2007, Mr. Kim was associated with Latham & Watkins LLP, where he was a member of the Securities Litigation and Professional Liability practice group. After graduating from law school, Mr. Kim was a Public Interest Fellow at the Alliance for Justice in Washington, DC, where he engaged in written and oral advocacy on federal judicial selection, takings clause legislation and nonprofit tax law.

Representative matters
- Representation of California utility in efforts to recover overpayments for electricity during the California energy crisis;
- Representation of a special litigation committee of a Fortune 500 company in a shareholders’ derivative suit;
- Defense of hedge fund in dispute with borrower over a private investment in public equity (PIPE) financing transaction;
- Representation of California utility in dispute with independent power producer over terms of a long-term power purchase agreement;
- Representation of California utility in regulatory proceeding before the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC);
- Defense of numerous consumer class actions;
- Defense of major accounting firm in arbitration alleging breach of contract and professional negligence;
- Representation of a labelstock company in various antitrust matters, including federal multi-district litigation and numerous state court indirect purchaser actions; and
- Representation of victims of a visa fraud and human trafficking scheme in federal action involving civil RICO, Fair Labor Standards Act, wage and hour statutes and California Unfair Competition Law.
