Randall Kim has handled a wide
range of complex litigation, in federal and state courts and
in private arbitrations. He has represented corporate
clients in securities, professional liability, antitrust,
class action, and appellate matters. His cases have
involved claims for misappropriation of
trade secrets, breach of
fiduciary duty, professional negligence, breach of contract,
unfair competition, and securities fraud.
Prior to
joining Brune & Richard in 2007, Mr. Kim was associated with
Latham & Watkins LLP for six years. From 1999 to 2000, Mr.
Kim was a law clerk to the Honorable Mary M. Schroeder,
Chief Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the
Ninth Circuit. From 1998 to 1999, he served as a law clerk
to the Honorable Edwin L. Nelson in the United States
District Court for the Northern District of Alabama. After
graduating from law school, Mr. Kim was a Public Interest
Fellow at the Alliance for Justice in Washington, DC, where
he engaged in written and oral advocacy on federal judicial
selection, takings clause legislation, and nonprofit tax
law.
Mr. Kim is
the co-author of "Fraud and Theft Offenses" (with Robert E.
Sims and Elizabeth B. Lamzaki) in Federal Sentencing for
Business Crimes (Lexis/Nexis 2003), a treatise on the
sentencing guidelines applicable to federal crimes involving
mail and wire fraud, embezzlement, counterfeiting, and trade
secrets theft.
Mr. Kim earned a J.D. from Columbia
Law School in 1997 and served as Managing Editor of the
Columbia Human Rights Law Review. Mr. Kim graduated with
honors from the University of California at Berkeley in
1993.
