Nina Beattie is an experienced litigator in both criminal and civil matters. Her practice focuses on white-collar defense. She has successfully represented individuals and entities in a wide range of cases in federal and state courts as well as before regulatory agencies. Her cases have involved allegations of securities fraud, accounting fraud, health care and other government contract fraud, money laundering, embezzlement, and labor issues. Her clients include doctors, lawyers, university professors, corporate executives, accountants, and engineers, as well as individuals from the financial services industry, including brokers, investment bankers, analysts, hedge fund and mutual fund executives, and New York Stock Exchange specialists.

From 1996 to 1997, Ms. Beattie served as a law clerk to the Honorable Kimba M. Wood in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. Before joining Brune & Richard, she worked at the Capital Defender Office in New York and interned at the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia and at the Appalachian Research and Defense Fund of Kentucky.

Ms. Beattie is a member of the Board of Directors of the City Bar Justice Center and the Fund for Modern Courts. Ms. Beattie serves as a member of the Disciplinary Committee of the Appellate Division, First Judicial Department of New York.

Ms. Beattie graduated from Yale Law School in 1996, where she was awarded the C. LaRue Munson Prize for excellence in the investigation, preparation, and presentation of a civil, criminal, or administrative law case for her work representing a prisoner in a Section 1983 case. In 1989, Ms. Beattie graduated magna cum laude from Dartmouth College, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and was a recipient of the Salvador Allende Gossens Memorial Prize and a grant from the Dickey Endowment. Between college and law school, Ms. Beattie worked at Planned Parenthood Federation of America and at the Robin Hood Foundation.
