Emily Reisbaum is an experienced trial and appellate litigator
whose practice focuses primarily on civil litigation. Her areas
of experience include antitrust, bankruptcy, copyright infringement,
employment discrimination, environmental regulation, securities
class actions and other commercial matters.
Prior to joining Brune & Richard, Ms. Reisbaum served as an
Assistant United States Attorney in the Southern District of New
York for four years. While there, she represented the government
in a wide array of civil and regulatory matters, including a class
action brought against the United States Postal Service, a False
Claims Act case involving the Federal Emergency Management Agency
and litigation related to the Enron bankruptcy. She also argued
a number of cases of first impression before the Second Circuit
Court of Appeals. From 1996 to 2001, Ms. Reisbaum was a litigation
associate with the law firm Debevoise & Plimpton, where she
worked on securities, insurance and consumer fraud class action
matters, among others.
Ms. Reisbaum graduated from New York University School of Law in
1996, where she received a Public Interest Fellowship. In 1991,
she graduated with honors from the University of Michigan. Before
and during law school, Ms. Reisbaum worked at the New York State
Commission on Juvenile Justice, the New York County District Attorney’s
Office and at the law firm Rogers & Wells.
